Providing leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, this position coordinates and facilitates daily clinical activities, ensuring effective use of resources. Acts as the communication liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as other health care professionals and administrative personnel outside the unit/service. Supervises staff, provides leadership and functions as a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of unit/service goals. Contributes to the monitoring and development of the operating plan. Provides leadership within the unit/service for quality and risk management activities.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized nursing program or evidence of equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN/RPN registrant. Three to five years\' recent related experience, including two years\' relevant clinical experience.RN required at all Acute sites; RN or RPN for LTC and/or MHSU sites.Skills And Abilities

Link to Full Additional information for applicantsRJH- 6th Floor North- Low Intensity Rehab Unit- 6 North is a 32 bed unit. 24 of these beds are designated acute Rehab. The focus of rehab is primarily musculo-skeletal although a broad range of diagnoses are accepted through the referral process. The remaining beds on the unit are designated as pre-hab. Acute patients who are suitably stable and are likely to require and tolerate intensive rehab as they recover more fully are selected first from surgical units and then from other areas in order to enable patient flow.Additional ClausesBCNU: Vaccination Notification: To keep our employees, clients and the communities we serve safe, Island Health is enforcing an employee mandatory vaccination policy which is intended to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
