Our organization is an integrated system of hospitals: Whitehorse General Hospital (58 beds), Watson Lake Community Hospital (6 beds) and Dawson City Community Hospital (6 beds).

Reporting to the Operations Leader, Dawson City Community Hospital, the Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the patient care team of Dawson City Community Hospital. In addition, they assist with overseeing and allocating human resources and medical supplies for the provision of optimal and consistent patient care.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of established best practices and procedures of professional nursing care;

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field;

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of clinical education principles;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to plan and implement a resource management program for patient care units;

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of management methods and techniques including human and financial management;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate orally and in writing;

\xc2\xb7 Effective interpersonal relationships;

\xc2\xb7 Initiative, judgment and reliability;

\xc2\xb7 Cross-cultural awareness;

\xc2\xb7 Advocacy and assertiveness skills;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant unit skills;

\xc2\xb7 Computer literacy;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively engage with a variety of physician personalities ranging from widely experienced generalists to

highly specialized visiting medical staff from out of province health care facilities.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to advocate for patients, patients\' family, unit staff or other allied members of the health care team.

The successful candidate will be Registered Nurse with either a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA); and have current CPR/AED and A.C.L.S. Healthcare Provider certification. A Masters in Nursing and/or certification in N.R.P, and T.N.C.C would be desirable.
