About the Role
The Recovery & Addictions Clinical Nurse Lead will work in direct partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the Withdrawal Management Services programs for youth under 19 and adults over 19 who require supervised withdrawal management support for alcohol and/or substance use dependence. They will also support the clinical leadership and supervision of LPNs and RN/RPNs across the broader Recovery & Addictions portfolio.
The incumbent will ensure, in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager, that policies, procedures, protocols, programs/curriculum, and standards of care reflect best practices and safe, effective care principles. They will support the leadership and clinical supervision of the interdisciplinary team, including Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Withdrawal Management Workers, and Recovery Care Workers.
This position will be part of the nursing roster that ensures the safe and sustainable operation of the Recovery & Addictions programs, including participation in the nurse on-call schedule (minimum 10 days per month).
Position:
Full Time, 40 hours per week
Compensation:
Clinical Nurse Lead wage range $46.58-$60.28 per hour, plus on-call compensation and applicable shift premiums.
Evening shift premium: $3.50 per hour (1900-0700)
Weekend shift premium: $2.50 per hour (midnight Friday-midnight Sunday)
Shift premiums compound: $6.00 per hour (1900-0700 on midnight Friday-midnight Sunday)

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Diploma or degree in nursing and registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as RN or RPN
Completion of UBC CPD Addiction Care and Treatment Online Course
3+ years experience in addictions/substance use treatment (preferred)
Prior leadership experience in healthcare or team setting (preferred)
Training and experience providing evidence-based responses to alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, and concurrent disorders
Experience working within or leading facility-based/residential services
Job Skills and Abilities
Physically capable of performing duties required
Apply evidence-based knowledge from health, social services, and related disciplines
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving using data from multiple sources
Knowledge of clinical practices, standards, and trends in Recovery & Addictions treatment, including trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and substance use disorder treatment approaches
Provide direct service, case management, assessment, and clinical supervision with cultural competency
Build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and stakeholders
Facilitate groups and deliver presentations using adult learning and community development principles
Communicate effectively orally and in writing, leveraging technology
Manage time and priorities efficiently, maintain professional boundaries, and respond to crises
Work independently with discretion and sound judgment
