Position SummaryThe Faculty of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Tenure Track Clinical Instructor in Regina. Registered nurses with recent clinical experience across multiple care areas are invited to apply.

  • Instruction and mentoring of nursing students in a variety of clinical, community, and lab/seminar settings throughout years 1-4 of the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program
  • Responsibilities vary according to the educational setting and will include clinical/lab/seminar preparation, supervision, instruction, and evaluation
  • May include low, medium, and high fidelity simulation, seminars, labs and interprofessional teaching/learning events.
  • Will include formative and summative evaluation of student clinical performance in relation to course competencies and learning outcomes, which includes the determination of students\' client assignments, clinical instruction, evaluation of student progress, and support within the agency during student research time
  • Includes agency collaboration and interdisciplinary communication within the clinical setting
  • Opportunities for participation in other program activities
  • Some travel will be required
Position RequirementsThe successful candidates must have excellent communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, and a demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for teaching, including student advising. Successful candidates will be expected to use a variety of teaching modalities, including offering courses in practice education settings, labs, and seminars.Applicants will have a minimum of two years of recent and relevant practice experience in their area of specialization.A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required. A completed Master of Nursing is preferred.Applicants must be registered or eligible for practice registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan and have certification in CPR, TLR, and be mask fit tested.Physical DemandsGross Motor Skills

Physical Endurance, Strength and Mobility
Endurance:
  • Walk long distances (transfer patient, etc.)
  • Stand (at the patient\'s side during surgery or therapeutic procedure, etc.)
  • Sustain repetitive movement (CPR compressions, bagging, etc.)
  • Maintain physical tolerance (stand/walk/work on your feet for 8-12 hours at a time with minimal breaks)
Strength:
  • Push and pull 50 pounds (position patient, move equipment, etc.)
  • Support 50 pounds of weight (ambulate patient, assist to bedside toilet, etc.)
  • Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.)
  • Carry equipment/supplies
  • Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)
  • Squeeze with hands (operate fire extinguisher)
Mobility:

Textile:
