Personal Care Home Program: The Clinical Dietitian II is part of an inter-disciplinary team responsible for the monitoring and licensing of Personal Care Homes. This includes the monitoring of activities and reports related to nutrition and food service for assigned Personal Care Homes to ensure compliance to the Personal Care Home Program Operational Standards (revised April 2007) and the Personal Care Home Regulations 2001. There is a possibility of afterhours/weekend monitoring that may be required as part of the monitoring process. The Clinical Dietitian II collaborates with the inter-professional health care team in the provision of nutrition care; provides counselling/education to residents and staff of Personal Care Homes; participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, annual review meetings and investigations of complaints and completion of inspections which may require visits after hours and on weekends; and completes monthly statistical reports as required. The Clinical Dietitian II will engage in practice, program and quality improvement initiatives. The incumbent is required to support NL Health Service\'s Dietetic Internship Program through contribution of clinical practice expertise and/or preceptorship of dietetic interns.Community Support Program:
The Clinical Dietitian II with the Community Support Program is a vital member of the inter-disciplinary team. Responsibilities involve participating in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nutrition programs and services and responding to referrals from health professionals for nutrition assessment/counselling in the community setting. The Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition education and consultative services to Community Support Program staff and clients. In addition, the Dietitian participates in internal and external committees to promote nutrition, develop resources, and provide nutrition expertise.This position reports to the Manager of Personal Care Home Program and Division manager of Community Supports Program and maintains accountability to the Regional Professional Practice Consultant for Dietitians for integrity and professional practice.The incumbent will work half time in the Personal Care Home Program and half time in the Community Support Program, with a set schedule.Job Demands

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent from an accredited university program and successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program is required.
Current Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians is required.

Previous Clinical Dietitian experience in geriatric nutrition would be considered an asset.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team would be considered an asset.
A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver\'s License and the use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment.
