Position Overview:



We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and highly skilled

Clinical Counselor

to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individual, group, and/or family counselling to clients facing a variety of developmental, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities:



Conduct initial assessments and create individualized treatment plans based on each client's strengths and needs. Deliver case management and counselling services using evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, or solution-focused therapy. Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards. Collaborate closely with professionals such as social workers, developmental service workers, child and youth counsellors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists as part of a multidisciplinary team. Provide crisis intervention services to clients and their families as required. Engage in community-based capacity building through education and liaison with both internal and external resources. Develop, implement, and monitor client care plans. Participate in regular team meetings, consultations, and site visits to inform recommendations and referrals based on client progress. Serve as a resource for other agency programs, professionals, students, and volunteers. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to remain up to date on best practices, policies, and regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Current registration with a recognized regulatory body (e.g., CRPO, OCSWSSW, CPBAO). Demonstrated experience in counselling and psychotherapy, preferably within a clinical setting. In-depth knowledge of mental health and developmental issues, trauma-informed care, concurrent disorders, cultural competence, and relevant clinical interventions. Strong understanding of social determinants of health and the DSM-V, including substance use disorders. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.

Experience Levels:



Clinical Counselor I:

0-5 years of experience

Clinical Counselor II:

5+ years of experience

Assets:

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $44.00-$66.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 40 per week
