The Opportunity:
The Clinical Coordinator -Dermatology is primarily responsible for the facilitation of patient enrollment and commercialization of patient prescriptions in the Sentrex Dermatology Program. The Clinical Coordinator is also responsible for providing clinics with updated patient coverage information and corresponding with dermatology clinic staff to ensure quick access to drug therapy for their patients. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator will assist with other administrative duties and pharmacy related duties within the candidate's scope as regulated by the provincial pharmacy board.
The Clinical Coordinator is expected to participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations required of a team player. All roles at Sentrex will be cross trained as permitted by scope of practice, and you may be required to help out in other areas of the pharmacy when required.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here)
:
Providing cross-coverage administrative support to all areas within the Patient Support Program, Pharmacy and Clinics
Organizing the intake of new patients and creation of patient files for the Sentrex Dermatology Program, assigning and completing follow up tasks as appropriate
Performing reimbursement activities including completion of Special Authorization forms, test bills, and obtaining authorization expiring information
Proactively problem solve third-party insurance issues to ensure timely processing of prescription claims
Provide exemplary customer service to patients, physicians/health care professionals and medical clinic staff, by phone/email/ clinic visits
Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the provincial pharmacy regulatory college
Providing effective and timely management of inbound faxes and email communication.
Engage in and manage email, phone, and fax correspondence.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepare and send out Program letters and materials and work collaboratively with the team to complete a variety of administrative duties.
Maintain program data accuracy through review of program documentation for completeness and consistency.
Assist program Nurses and Pharmacy staff with any other tasks assigned.
Assist pharmacists in preparation of injections for administration and/or injection administration services and follow-up monitoring where applicable by provincial regulatory college and demonstrating the use of injectable drugs
Accurate processing of prescriptions, including data-entry of prescriptions, scheduling refills, picking/labelling/packaging of medications, technical release of prescription, and preparing prescriptions/orders for delivery.
Assist with any areas of pharmacy operations as required by the pharmacy manager.
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
Grade 12 education combined with 2 years of community college, secretarial and/or equivalent work-related experience providing office administration services, pharmacy assistant experience or licensed in good standing as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (preferred).
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred
Experience working with Patient Support Programs or Pharmacy is an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and customer service skills
Accurately inputting information into various paper and electronic forms
Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and multi-task in a fast-paced and changing environment
High level of proficiency with Information Technology as well as computer and software skills: Microsoft Office suite of applications, phone systems and databases
Typing skills and ability to be a strong functional user of various computer-based programs
Strong organizational skills with the ability to cope with changing priorities
Self-directed individual who can work independently with minimal supervision
Adheres to confidentiality policy when handling and managing patient data and information
Proactive, dynamic and demonstrates an ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others in assisting with the delivery of administration services
