Clinic Nurse/Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology ClinicBC Children\xe2\x80\x99s HospitalVancouver, BCThis is a vacation relief line.The Clinic Nurse provides, coordinates and implements nursing care service such as patient assessment, patient and family teaching, family teaching and health promotion activities to the Oncology/Hematology/BMT patients and their families, in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures and philosophy at BC Children\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Collect and documents patient health care information on patients and their families. Maintains complete and accurate records of nursing observation, interventions, teaching and evaluation of nursing care. Maintains complete and accurate records of telephone communications as well.
  • Plan, coordinates and delivers direct patient care activities in the clinic. Utilizes and implements appropriate nursing skills/techniques in the care of the pediatric Oncology/Hematology/BMT patient and family.
  • Collaborate with other members of the health care team to plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Oncology/Hematology/BMT setting.
  • Initiate and coordinates assessment and post-assessment referrals, responds to patient, family and health care member enquiries and liaises with other support diagnostic services/community health services in coordinating patient referrals.
  • Teach patients, families, the public and health care professionals, as required.
What you bringQualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Recent nursing experience in the designated clinic setting including one (1) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in client education training.
  • Chemotherapy Level I.
  • Central Line Certification.
