Under the direction of the Coordinator of Application Services, the Client Support Technologist is responsible for providing training, analysis, and application support, ensuring the Student Information System (SIS) operates effectively and efficiently. This involves maintaining data accuracy, troubleshooting technical issues, and empowering users with the knowledge to navigate the system successfully.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Team Collaboration: Working closely with the Application Services team to address system-related challenges, ensure accurate data, and maintain procedural efficiency.
Problem-Solving: Swiftly diagnosing and resolving technical issues in the SIS by leveraging analytical skills.
Training & Documentation: Delivering ongoing training and creating resources to improve user understanding and compliance with Ministry requirements.
Data Accuracy: Supporting school staff with accurate data in the SIS for ministry reporting, third party application integration, and data requests for data decision making.
Vendor Updates: Reviewing and interpreting updates and communications from the SIS application vendor to stay informed.
Continuous Learning: Staying updated on new database technologies and best practices for user training and support.
Qualifications/Experience
:
University degree or three-year diploma with an emphasis on computer studies is a minimum;
2-3 years related experience in client support is required;
thorough knowledge of computer software and an understanding of programming languages and databases;
understanding of vendor application releases and application testing;
advanced knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Products such as Excel, Word, Publisher, Project, Access, OneNote, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and Teams;
experience with writing and updating student information procedure documentation;
understanding of school board procedures and ministry guidelines;
knowledge of school administrative procedures;
excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication and programming skills are required;
