Job Description




The Avon Maitland District School Board is inviting applications for the full-time permanent position of Client Service Support with the Centre for Employment and Learning supporting The LearningHUB program and Employment Services. Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the duties below. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provides accurate and up-to-date program information to potential learners;
  • Maintain information for online learners related to registration requirements to meet Ministry funding, referral services etc and highlight information that is required &/or missing;
  • Processes registration information for eligible individuals for Live Classes as well as preparing the required documentation for for Literacy Practitioners;
  • Works with the LearningHUB team to ensure the continued growth and development of the program by participating in projects and committee work;
  • Coordinates communication related to the LearningHUB to provide details regarding live classes, pre-registration, certificates of completion and recordings;
  • Supports data-entry for Ministry; open all learners in CaMS for the LearningHUB
  • Creates and maintains paper-based and electronic client files; opening &/or closing client files for Clinton SURP Classroom and e-Channel learners
  • Tracks client attendance records and workshop registrations for non-credit programs including reminder calls and conduct 3, 6 and 12 months follow-up
  • Assists the Employment Service team with completing and sending referrals to community partners;
  • Support the completion of assessments for potential clients to to ensure accurate information during the registration process;
  • Generates month-end statistical reports and providing monthly summary reports to Program Manager;
  • Completes financial records in e-Nav for Reach for Success Clients, Employer Supports, COJG (Canada-Ontario Job Grant), including a monthly report;
  • Prepares and maintains paper-based and electronic files for Reach for Success QEO (Quality Employment Opportunity) and IES (Integrated Employment Services) placements; plus request pay stubs from Employers for these placements;
  • Completes T4A for Reach For Success clients;
  • Participates in professional development workshops and in-service training as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Specifications and Requirements:
  • One year college diploma in Office Administration plus one year related experience preferred; Proven professional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Competent bookkeeping skills and ability to work well with numbers
  • Initiative and motivation to ensure quality and accuracy of tasks performed
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of Adult Learning Principles
  • The capacity to work independently, problem-solve, set priorities and multi-task in a busy environment and work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain in a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to stay current with technology and innovations in software and proven computer skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and the ability to stay current with technology and innovations in software and online program delivery
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, 12 months per year
Rate of Pay: $21.20 per hour as per the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union Centre for Employment and Learning Employees.
