The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (KCNI) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to integrate and analyze the wealth of data generated about the brain and mental health. Our research is performed in an open science environment, with an emphasis on reproducible data-driven research and a patient-centric approach to accelerate identification and treatment of mental illness. A focus on global collaboration is key to transforming our understanding of mental health and its treatment. The Centre operates as an incubator for medical technologies to identify, manage and treat mental illness, while shaping policy at national and global levels.

Position Description:




The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics is seeking a full-time, contract (1 year) Research Coordinator to join its team. Reporting to the Principal Investigator you will assist in the establishment of a research team on AI for mental health, including administrative research support and occasional technical support to trainees. The incumbent will work closely with the existing KCNI administrative research support team.

Key Accountabilities:



Provide support and coordination for day-to-day tasks and organizational needs related to the establishment of a research group Coordinate research projects in conjunction with the Principal Investigator, including liaising with knowledge users and project plan/tracking Coordinate and support grant/funding proposals on behalf of the Principal Investigator, gathering documentation, drafting sections, tracking deadlines, and ensuring submissions meet agency guidelines Coordinate all relevant protocols to ensure compliance for all scientific activities including institutional research, grants, research ethics approvals Provide coordination and assistance in implementation of multiple research projects; including equipment procurement, drafting Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), Quick Reference Cards/Guides (QRCs, documentations, etc.) as needed Quality Assurance/Monitoring experience for monitoring research project progress including annual reports and audits is an asset Coordinate the organization of events/seminars and research group meetings as needed Other administrative duties as required

Job Requirements




The successful candidate is required to have a Master's in a relevant field with 2 years of research environment experience. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, understanding of grants/funding, research ethics protocols, and considerable experience with preparing and submitting research applications processes (ie, drafting proposals, liaising with Research Services Departments, securing all required documentation in a timely manner). To be successful in this role you must have superior interpersonal, planning, time management, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills. You have the demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure, deal with conflicting priorities, and coordinate projects to tight deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You possess strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to proofread documents, and write meeting summaries and other documents for both internal and external audiences. You have demonstrated a high degree of confidentiality, tact and discretion in all situations. You possess excellent computer skills, including with Office 365 tools, and you like learning new tools and technology. Experience with research software development tools (GitHub, GitLab) is an asset. Experience with open-source office software (LibreOffice, Markdown, Pandoc, LaTeX, BibTeX) is an asset.


The ability to work with knowledge users of diverse identities and ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is required. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of inclusive environments and will support and implement anti-oppressive and anti-racist best practices in the workplace. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
