About Our Opportunity

If you enjoy leading a team of human resources professionals, building and fostering positive relationships across diverse client groups, and implementing and delivering human resources programs and services, we have an opportunity that may be a good fit for you to explore with the Public Service Commission as a Human Resources Client Service Director. There are currently nine Client Service Directors, who each report to one of three Managing Directors. This structure provides a strong peer group for support and demands collaborative decision making as a team within the Client Services Division of the Public Service Commission.

Primary Accountabilities

Reporting to a Managing Director, the Client Service Director is a leadership role and a principal client relationship manager within our service delivery model for human resources.

This role is critical to help ensure our services are responsive to client and business needs. Not only is this role one of providing subject matter advice and support on a wide range of human resources programs and services,but it is also responsible to:
  • Contribute to the creation of healthy, respectful, and engaging work environments.
  • Advance and support equity, diversity, and inclusion for the public service.
  • Provide human resources advice to Deputy Ministers, Associate Deputy Ministers, ExecutiveDirectors, and other leaders.
  • Lead with a relational approach to nurture an inclusive coaching culture to support your team of HRprofessionals and enable their growth, ability to respond to the needs of our clients, and theirwellbeing and belonging.
  • Foster community and collaborative partnerships with other leaders across the PSC to ensure a system perspective in how we resource and deliver all human resource solutions and services.
Your Story
  • This could be the right job for you if you have the following skills and experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience:
  • Progressive proven experience in client centric consulting, implementation, and delivery of human resource programs and services through team leadership and partnership within a complex organization, and a unionized workplace.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and coaching direct reports, executive teams, or project teams, and in building a culture of inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and collaboration in how you lead, manage, and deliver client service will be required.
  • Technical proficiency in software applications such as MS Office is essential.
  • Completion of a bachelor\'s degree in a related field (i.e.: Human Resources, Business)

Working Conditions
  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
  • May be required to work overtime on occasion
  • Typically located in an office environment, may require travel, particularly when conducting mediation, investigations, or training
  • Mental pressures include managing deadlines and competing priorities, information gathering, analysis, and problem solving
  • Often works in situations of conflict or otherwise sensitive matters
  • Need for difficult conversations and exertion of influence to resolve workplace issues

Pay Grade: EC 13

Salary Range: $3,918.14 - $4,897.66 Bi-Weekly
