Client Service Coordinator

The Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society (SABIS) is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals who have been affected by brain injury. We provide

non-medical

service coordination including informal client-centered emotional support, support applying for and accessing programs related to income, housing, and transportation, referrals to other community programs, advocacy, information, and education. SABIS does not provide one-to-one support in the community, medical support including rehabilitation, or legal services.

SABIS is seeking a dynamic, creative individual who is passionate about helping to make life easier for brain injury survivors and those who support them.

Core Responsibilities



Manage a caseload of clients who have an acquired brain injury

Manage group registration and transportation arrangements with the assistance of the Program Director

Advocate for services on behalf of clients

Support clients' families and personal support networks

Assist clients to identify, prioritize, find, and obtain the supports and services they require to improve and maintain quality of life

Plan and facilitate weekly peer support groups

Develop and maintain accurate community resource lists

Liaise with other social service agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Engage in community capacity-building activities

Maintain program statistics for the purpose of evaluation and funder reporting

Present information on SABIS, its services and brain injury prevention

Participate in interagency meetings

Perform varied administrative and organizational activities

Qualifications



Compassionate and human-centered attitude

Previous experience working with survivors of acquired brain injury would be considered an asset

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent time management skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and web-based programs

Current CPR and First Aid certification

Clear Criminal Record check and vulnerable persons check

Own vehicle and valid driver's license, with the willingness to travel would be considered an asset

Completion of a post-secondary program in a field of study such as social work, disability studies, community rehabilitation or related diploma/degree programs would be considered an asset but is not a requirement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,000.00 per year
