The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank (MJDFB) serves hundreds of households each month through our Harvest Pantry, warehouse, and community programs. We believe food access is a right, not a privilege -- and that dignity, safety, and respect are central to everything we do.

We are seeking a

Client Resource Coordinator

to be the front-line support for individuals and families accessing food support. This role is a key part of how we ensure our services are welcoming, organized, trauma-informed, and efficient.

Position Summary



The Client Resource Coordinator is responsible for supporting clients as they move through the MJDFB intake and pantry process. This includes booking appointments, verifying eligibility, explaining services, connecting clients to community resources, and supporting safe, respectful interactions in the food bank.

Key Responsibilities



Client Intake & Support



Greet clients and ensure a respectful, welcoming experience Register and update client information using MJDFB's digital booking and client systems Verify eligibility, documentation, and household information Explain pantry policies, visit frequency, and program expectations Assist with self-booking, phone booking, and email booking when needed

Resource Navigation



Provide information and referrals to community supports (housing, income assistance, mental health, family services, etc.) Identify client needs and escalate complex cases to supervisors or partner agencies Support clients in understanding next steps beyond food support

Safety & De-Escalation



Use trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques Maintain safe, calm interactions in busy or emotionally charged situations Follow MJDFB safety, reporting, and escalation procedures Participate in required de-escalation and safety training

Operational Support



Maintain accurate digital records Support pantry flow and client movement through the building Communicate clearly with warehouse, volunteer, and pantry staff Report concerns, trends, or safety issues to supervisors

Qualifications



Ideally the candidate would have



2 years of experience

in a client-facing role (social services, nonprofit, healthcare, education, customer service, or similar)

or some post-secondary education

in social work, human services, community development, psychology, or a related field Strong communication, organization, and computer skills Ability to work with people experiencing stress, trauma, or crisis Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in difficult situations

Preferred



Experience working with vulnerable populations Knowledge of community services and social supports Experience with digital booking systems or client databases
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
