Client Development Manager Cubane Consulting (Cubane) is a world-leading provider of benchmarking services to universities. A small firm, with 40 people across offices in Toronto, London and Sydney, we work with some of the most prestigious universities in the world, as members of our collaborative benchmarking and insights program, known as UniForum. We are looking for a Client Development Manager to join our growing team This is an exciting opportunity to join Cubane Consulting in a critical role focused on client and business development. The role will suit a commercially savvy change agent familiar with higher education and with a track record of success in contributing to proactive sales and lead generation, and related business development activities. This is available as a hybrid role out of Toronto, or remote position open to candidates in Ontario. You will support and grow our client development capability through a range of diverse activities including:

  • Increase the size of the \'front-end\' of the funnel and creating more first points of contact
  • Improve business and market intelligence
  • Contribute to improving performance of lead and opportunity pipeline
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Market, account, and internal research and data gathering
  • Pipeline maintenance and assessment
  • Outreach planning - determine priorities, approach, tactics, and calendar including key events
  • Disciplined execution of outreach plans: proactively drive execution of outreach ensuring data, systems, and schedules are lined up, and efforts are well coordinated and captured
  • Managing Salesforce \xe2\x80\x93 configuration and usage, so it is fit for purpose, accurate and valuable. Support future efforts to integrate Nous and Cubane Salesforce instances
  • Maximize the results of brand marketing investments. Contribute to thinking and planning of marketing events that support Cubane client development
  • Nous-Cubane collaboration and cross sell \xe2\x80\x93 act as a facilitator and supporter of collaborative business winning between Cubane and Nous by staying across Nous Higher Education strategies, client team approaches, and Nous client development approaches in UK and CA.
The practical skills:
  • Qualification in Management, Business, Marketing, or related area
  • 5 - 10 years professional experience
  • Ability to provide research and intelligence that Managing Directors can use to craft effective, exec-appropriate marketing messages
  • Strong attention to detail, and tenacity in making follow up contact with key individuals and their Executive Assistants
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn quickly and work across multiple enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, LMS, knowledge management, Microsoft suite of programs)Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand how people, processes and systems interact to deliver capability and high performance
  • Resilience built on self-awareness and ability to adapt to change
  • Pragmatic, able to negotiate and trade-off competing constraints
  • Capacity to self-manage, prioritize own workload and deliver to multiple deadlines, enabling others to do so
Desired, but not essential:
  • Familiarity with, and track record in using, key tools e.g., Salesforce, Campaign Monitor
  • Track record of successful product and/or professional services sales and business development
  • Proven track record of working successfully in the higher education sector or with universities
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector in one or both regions
