Your Opportunity:

This position is part of the Lethbridge Youth Treatment Center, based in Lethbridge. This site is located on the North Side of Lethbridge, and provides a range of evidence-based services that support bed-based programming for youth ages 12-17 with Substance Use Disorder and co-occurring Mental Illness. Youth will remain in the program for approximately 12 weeks, and during that time receive counselling (individual and group), attend community-based experiential activities, and participate in school work. The Client Care Assistant is a supportive role that provides therapeutic interactions to Youth, safe supervision, and supports the day to day operations of the program, including light housekeeping and building maintenance overnight. They would attend activities with the other program staff while the Youth are awake, and ensure that the Youth are safe in program while the youth are asleep.

Description:

As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

One year experience providing care to Youth in a bed-based care setting. One year experience providing care to individuals with addictions.
