Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to interview and input confidential information for clients registering at the new 93 room NL Health Services Accommodations location. The work involves the operation of a complex computerized five-star billing system.
The successful incumbent takes reservations by phone; inputs information in the computer; prints the daily reservation listing; assigns guests to rooms; registers guests by inputting name, complete reservation confirmation calls; address and financial responsibility code as well as different file numbers from various funded organizations; prints registration forms; assesses financial status according to guidelines to determine the amount of money payable by clients who meet the criteria for low income; collects money from guests, issues receipts, and explains rules and regulations; and issues parking permits and/or shuttle tickets to clients. The incumbent will also be responsible for credit card and debit machine along with a float of $200.00. The incumbent directs guests to rooms; helps clients with luggage upon request; assigns a room that corresponds with the correct financial code; operates a small switchboard; completes daily modifications of charges and adjustments when necessary for guest charges; ensures all amounts of money, receipt numbers, and data is correct before being posted for the general ledger; inputs receipts in terminal for cash paying guests when they check out; and prints a daily printout of all guests registered and other reports as required. The applicant is responsible for the smooth operation of NL Health Services Accommodations when working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Other related duties as required.

Constantly lifts objects less than 5lbs and occasionally lifts up to between 20 - 40 lbs when helping with a patient\'s luggage (ambulatory care) or lifting a box of files requiring assistance. May be required to maneuver carts and use a step ladder to access higher shelves.
Constantly performs fine finger/precision work while sitting and using a computer mouse, scheduling appointments, and other duties.
Work provides the opportunity to stand and walk and the opportunity to take postural breaks (sit, stand or walk) within the office environment.
Frequently required to perform bilateral repetitive fine motor skills when performing various computer work duties that involve typing and use of the computer\'s mouse.
Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Proficiency in French is required. The successful applicant will be required to complete the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador\'s Centre for Learning and Development French Language Training Program. This is a self-directed study program with live one-hour virtual tutorials with a French Language Specialist.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program is required. To be considered current, it must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
