Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director - Financial Reporting, the Finance Clerk is accountable for providing assistance and support to Finance Department on clerical and basic accounting tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the department. The position is primarily focused on providing support to the accounts receivable function and to clerical services of the general finance office.
The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Sant\xc3\xa9 Sud.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade XII education
  • Basic functioning within a Windows environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience within an office environment (preferably a finance environment)
  • Minimum of six (6) months computer experience required in accounting software, word processing and communication tools
  • Demonstrated basic functionality (data entry) with Excel
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience with data entry or administrative support
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills including courteous telephone manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy; demonstrated aptitude working with numbers
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to ongoing change
  • Demonstrated life-long learner
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment:
  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Sant\xc3\xa9 Sud policy.
The employee occupying this indefinite term position shall receive notice equivalent to the amount of notice the employee returning from leave provides the employer.
