Our core businesses include Mobile Crane & Rigging, Highway Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction, On / Off Highway Bulk Commodity Hauling, Specialized Heavy Hauling, Oilfield Services, Mine Contracting, Proppant Supply and Logistics, and General On-Site Services.

We are looking to expand our operations areas and are preparing a response to an RFP announced by Parsons Corporation for the Giant Mine Reclamation Project. We are looking for qualified professionals to join our Team should we be successful in procuring the contract for this project.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Class 5 Stationary Engineer will operate, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical and civil infrastructure throughout the site. The Class 5 Stationary Engineer will ensure that equipment is operating safely and within established limits, will conduct monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair and will be required to perform preventative maintenance and document completed procedures. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Adhere to all Client and LaPrairie SOP\'s, policies and procedures, including health, safety and environment (HSE) polices.
  • Ensure all employees and visitors adhere to all Client and LaPrairie SOP\'s, policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure as required to ensure water (domestic, fire) and sewage services are available upon demand.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure to ensure Northwest dewatering system and Supercrest stations are ready for use as directed by the Parsons\' Mine Manager, Sr. Construction Manager or their designates.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure to operate seepage pumpback systems at Dam 22B and Dam 7 as required. Setup, operate, and maintain temporary pumps at Dam 3 as required by AHJ.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure to manage and maintain water inventory in North, Central, South, and Northwest Ponds below freeboard/safe operating levels as required by AHJ.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure to pump contaminated water from sumps by the mill and roaster complexes and maintain minimum practical volumes in these sumps.
  • Install, operate, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure during peak periods such as in springtime to pump out freshwater accumulation in A1, A2, B1, and C1 pits and other measures required to minimize infiltration of surface water into the mine.
  • Maintain the mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure necessary to transport water from the North and Northwest Ponds to the ETP as required.
  • Work with project team members to execute the scope efficiently and within the timelines and budget allotted.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 3-5 years of related experience with maintenance of electrical and mechanical maintenance of stationary equipment.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in stationary equipment inspection, failure analysis, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Must be able to work independently to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Must be comfortable in a leadership role and possess team building skills to effectively supervise onsite personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities capable of handling pressure and challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, territorial, and federal construction regulations.
