Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations in the Williams Lake area with occasional trips to Bella Coola. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle freight effectively. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Duties

Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport freight to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport. Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle readiness.

Skills

Proficient in commercial driving with a valid Class 1 commercial driver's license (CDL). Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations. Experience operating forklifts is preferred. Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for maintaining vehicle functionality. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
