Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 Driver for Fort McKay Logistics LP. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking up freight at the warehouses and delivering to the appropriate areas as per drop off point. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for knowing and working in accordance with the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP Health and Safety Policy as well as Commercial Vehicle Regulations. This is a permanent, full-time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties, Responsibilities and Skills Required:

  • Operating commercial vehicles
  • Completing daily driver logs in accordance with Alberta\xe2\x80\x99s hour of service regulations
  • Fill out pre and post trip inspections
  • Ensure vehicle is properly equipped and in proper working order
  • Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Follow the scheduled plan for deliveries and inform supervisor if you must deviate for any reason
  • Maintain shipping and loading documents
  • Maintain professional driving habits at all times
  • Be alert to risks and threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
  • Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Turnaround Logistics Yard; 4-10\xe2\x80\x99s schedule (Subject to change during turnarounds); day\xe2\x80\x99s only
Minimum Qualifying Requirements
  • Valid Class One (1) driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and clean five (5) year drivers abstract \xe2\x80\x93 All applications must include a five (5) year commercial driver abstract, current within 30 days, in order to receive consideration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Commercial Driver experience required
  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS and OSSA or BSO) is required
  • Forklift certificate is required
  • Picker training/ticket with a minimum of three (3) years of experience is required
  • Ability to speak, read and write English is required
  • Warehousing/ yard work experience is an asset
  • WHMIS is an asset
  • Criminal background check is required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Working Conditions:

There are occasions when the individual may come into contact with dust due to the site\xe2\x80\x99s conditions and with fluids from the vehicles such as windshield washer, coolant and oil. You may also be exposed to loud noises, hot, cold, wet, and dry weather conditions. Vehicle inspection, regardless of weather conditions, is required daily.
