Claims Administrator

Job Description


As a Claims Administrator, you will be a key player in supporting the ongoing safety of our Drivers and fleet. Working closely with your team, you will use your exceptional customer service skills to build relationships with, and give support to, company employees as well as third parties including law enforcement, insurance and other government agencies. You will be responsible for the administration of all claims relating to equipment, cargo and property.
This includes the handling of incoming calls, completing reports and entering data into the required systems and programs. You will use your proven organizational and time management skills to maintain complete and accurate files and investigate and follow up on all files as required. Demonstrated problem solving, communication, customer service, and computer skills are essential to your success in this position. Experience in document creation, including invoices and business letters along with experience in the transportation or claims industry is an asset.
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Handle and prioritize incoming calls, (emergency, non-routine, routine) and respond accordingly,
  • Complete reports and enter data into the required systems and programs,
  • Investigate claim to determine liability and loss exposure,
  • Contact appropriate parties including MPI, Police, etc. to obtain reports and other relevant information,
  • Document pertinent details to the Claims Management System as the file progresses,
  • Communicating plan of action to relevant parties of the claims details.
