The Centre is seeking applications for an instructor with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) specialization commencing for the Winter 2026 term for the Child and Youth Care Diploma.
We are seeking instructors who are passionate about teaching and dedicated to supporting students in their educational journey. As a member of the school instructional team, instructors participate in a collaborative teaching environment.
Position Details
Responsibilities of all faculty in the Centre of Justice and Human Services include:Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes.
Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural, educational and learning backgrounds.
Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards.
Contributing to course materials and course outline maintenance.
Working collaboratively within programs and course teams.
Adhering to all Lethbridge Polytechnic's policies, procedures and standards.
This position will support delivery of CYC 1163 - Behaviour Management and the successful applicant will need to coordinate and collaborate with the other instructor.
Required Qualifications
A master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Social Work) and/or a combination of education and experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years direct experience with youth and families affected by FASD including supports and evidence-based intervention strategies.
Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary or professional setting is an asset, as well as competency with technology.
Experience which reflects varied and increasing levels of responsibility is beneficial.
Salary
Commensurate with education in accordance with the current Faculty Collective Agreement Sessional Faculty Grid
