Job Description
We are seeking a skilled
Civil Works Foreman
to oversee the construction ofstorm and drainage systems
, includingprecast manhole installations, catch basins, subdrains, and surface grading
on large-scale infrastructure and site development projects.Scope of Work
Supervise the installation of
PVC storm mains, subdrains, and manhole structures
to municipal and engineering specifications. Overseeprecast manhole installation
, including: Setting1050 mm 4-way precast bases
with 300 mm PVC boots and plugs Aligning bases to design inverts and elevations Installing risers, eccentric cones, and frame assemblies Ensuringbenched inverts
and watertight joints (Ram-Nek or O-ring) Manage installation ofcatch basins, beehive inlets, and flow restrictors
, verifying elevations and slopes. Confirmpipe slopes, alignments, and compaction
of trench backfill (minimum 95% Modified Proctor). Direct grading operations to achievefinal subgrade and topsoil depths
for proper site drainage and runoff control. Coordinate with survey and testing teams forelevation verification and density testing
. Maintain compliance withCSA, MMCD, and WorkSafe BC
standards for materials, compaction, and safety. Perform final walk-downs to verify elevation accuracy, manhole alignment, and surface drainage performance.Requirements
5+ years' experience
in civil or municipal drainage and infrastructure construction Proven background installingstorm mains, manholes, and drainage systems
Proficiency ingrade checking, laser setup, and pipe alignment
Strong ability toread and interpret civil drawings, plans, and profiles
Experience leadingfield crews and coordinating heavy equipment operations
Working knowledge ofCSA A257 precast standards and municipal specifications
ValidClass 5 driver's license
