Civil Infrastructure Group Manager

Job Description


We currently have an opening for a Civil Infrastructure Group Manager in our Vancouver office.
The successful candidate will lead the Infrastructure Group in the Infrastructure Division. The Infrastructure Group is responsible for providing civil engineering and advisory services throughout B.C. The Group services a diverse client sector including public sector and private sector clients such as Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Governments, Private Sector Clients, and Contractors.
As the Infrastructure Manager, the successful candidate must be able to: (1) manage all project execution and business development aspects of the Company\'s business within the specified services for which the Infrastructure Group has been formed, and (2) ensure that all technical and administrative aspects of our services are being performed in a manner consistent with the Company\'s goals, standards and performance objectives.

Duties will include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Managing and coordinating technical staff and assigning resources to projects
  • Managing and supervising staff and assisting with recruitment, career planning and salary reviews
  • Promoting staff development and growth through coaching and mentoring
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, design briefs, design drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring quality and accuracy of designs, reports, and studies
  • Ensuring project needs are met in an effective and timely matter
  • Managing client relationships
  • Business development and marketing
  • Ensuring financial success of the company through proactive project management and coaching of project managers and project team
Job Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered with EGBC as a P.Eng.
  • 10+ years of experience in design, engineering, construction and management of which a minimum of 5 years is in a consulting capacity.
  • Project management of civil municipal and regional infrastructure projects.
  • Consulting and/or professional experience in B.C. is an asset.
  • Experience in business development in both private and public sectors.
  • Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Committed team player and an independent worker.
  • Ability to travel across Canada.
  • Possess a valid driver\'s license.
