We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civil Estimator to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the cost estimation process for civil projects, ensuring accurate pricing, thorough analysis, and effective cost control. Duties

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthworks, grading, drainage, paving, and site utilities. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive bid proposals and manage project documentation efficiently. Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate competitive rates. Conduct site visits to assess conditions, verify quantities, and ensure estimates reflect real-world project requirements. Monitor project budgets during execution to support cost control efforts and adjust estimates as needed for change orders or unforeseen conditions. Assist in contract review processes, ensuring all terms align with project scope and budget constraints while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating within civil or heavy civil projects; familiarity with construction management practices is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Bluebeam for digital document management and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is essential. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors while maintaining quality standards. In-depth knowledge of construction estimating processes, cost control techniques, and pricing strategies. Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical insight into project execution challenges. Solid understanding of contracts, project management principles, and the overall construction lifecycle.
