Civil Engineer

Summary:
Performs standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
Complete field visits to support engineering work development.
Liaise with clients to ensure solutions identified meet underlying needs.
Complete engineering deliverables to support plant lifetime operations including design, construction, testing, commissioning, plant operations, and maintenance

Core Civil Engineering Specific Skill Requirements:

Design, analysis and qualification of Structures, Systems and Components. Experience in system engineering and design review processes. Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods. Ability to support design and constructability review meetings. Working knowledge and understanding of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC. Familiarity with CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20. Familiarity with engineering software tools, such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, MicroShield. Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of various engineering calculations and reports. 4-year Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Holds a EIT designation with PEO is progressing to get PE License or have an existing PE License Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients. Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by Project Management, Business Line Management or by Customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities Ability to work with Senior Engineers and other disciplines. Ability to respond to rapidly changing demands. Ability to execute work to high safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities



Design and develop civil engineering projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software. Create detailed schematics and construction drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with project managers to estimate costs and timelines for construction projects. Utilize GIS and Bluebeam for project documentation and management. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success. Conduct site assessments and apply engineering principles to solve design challenges.
