Civil Engineer (intermediate)

Job Description


We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team in Regina. You will be responsible for the design and technical delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. You will work with engineers, technologists, and support staff to provide civil engineering services to a variety of public and private sector clients. Your projects may include asset management, and design of roadways, water, sanitary, and storm infrastructure. You will be involved in preparing studies, designs, specifications, and contract documents for municipal and multi-discipline engineering projects. You may also participate in scheduling and tendering, construction inspection, and contract administration. You will also provide support to other members of our team and complete other duties as assigned while working on a variety of projects in a collaborative team environment.

As part of the SASK Infrastructure Division, you will contribute to and integrate with our high functioning team of Engineers and Technologists, and report to the Manager of Municipal Engineering in Regina.

You will lead by example and apply new perspectives on technology use and the efficient application of technology. You are forward thinking and will engage fellow discipline members to improve overall team performance and client service.

You will primarily work on projects throughout Associated Engineering\'s Saskatchewan and Manitoba Operation and have the opportunity to work on projects throughout Canada.

Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or an associated discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience gained in a professional engineering setting
  • P.Eng. or immediately eligible for P.Eng. licensing with APEGS/Engineers Geoscientists Saskatchewan
  • Experience in planning and undertaking detailed visual inspections and condition surveys
  • Experience in cost estimating, tender preparation, contract administration, and resident inspection
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proven experience managing client expectations
  • Ability to write technical reports and proposals
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver\'s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel within SK and MB as required
