Position Summary:
Hatch is seeking a civil engineering graduate to join our railway engineering team based out of the Vancouver office. In this role, you will be working on major railway projects in Western Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Design alignments, profiles, and corridors using Civil 3D
  • Produce all levels of drawings from concept to detailed design
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary design teams to develop functional designs in accordance with regulations, laws, and design standards
  • Develop quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design basis documentation
  • Maintain high-quality standards through quality control processes
  • Conduct site visits and develop field documentation
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related qualification from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working in a civil engineering or construction management role
  • Construction, design, or railway experience is considered an asset
  • EIT status with EGBC or be eligible to get EIT within 6 months of hire date
Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on stretch roles
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Shows critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients\' toughest challenges
