Position Overview
We are looking for a
Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) with 3-5 years of relevant experience
to join our growing team. In this role, you will work on a variety of small- to large-scale land development projects, guiding designs through approval and construction. This position offers the opportunity to
advance into Project Management
or continue growing as a
technical expert
in land development engineering.
This position involves working on
small- to large-scale residential and commercial projects
, bringing designs forward to approval and construction.
Field work
will be required. A key focus of this role is
technical report writing
and ensuring high-quality engineering documentation. The position offers career growth opportunities into

or advanced
technical leadership roles
.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed
land development engineering designs, drawings, and contract documents
for residential and commercial development projects.
Conduct
technical analysis
of stormwater and sanitary design using modeling software.
Write
technical reports
, including design briefs, engineering assessments, and project summaries.
Manage multiple projects
with minimal supervision
while ensuring quality and accuracy.
Develop
opinions of probable costs
for developments.
Liaise with
municipalities, regulatory bodies, and approval authorities
to facilitate project approvals.
Coordinate with
field staff, contractors, and consultants
to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Civil Engineering Degree (BSc in Eng.)
Certification:
Registered or eligible for registration with
APEGA
Experience:
Minimum
3+ years
in land development, project design, and drafting
Software Skills:
o Strong proficiency in
AutoCAD and Civil 3D
(mandatory)
o Experience with
stormwater modeling software and HNA software
is an asset
Technical Writing:
Experience in
technical report writing
and ability to communicate engineering concepts effectively
Knowledge of Standards:
Familiarity with
City of Calgary
standards and procedures
Soft Skills:
Strong
communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Work Ethic:
Ability to work
independently and collaboratively
in a team environment
Additional Skills:
Strong
communication, leadership, and problem-solving
abilities.
Detail-oriented with a

Familiarity with
City of Calgary standards and procedures
