We are seeking a Civil Draftsperson with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our team at our Mount Pearl, NL, office. Candidates must at minimum possess a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent education in Civil Engineering Drafting.

The successful candidate, under the supervision of the senior civil engineer, will actively participate in the analysis, design, planning, and construction of projects in the civil engineering field.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret plans of civil engineering infrastructure; Assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs for a full range of civil/municipal infrastructure, including water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, stormwater management, vehicular roadway systems, etc.; Prepare engineered drawing packages; Perform quantity calculations for cost estimates; Perform technical calculations; Participate in the preparation of reports and technical specifications; Perform all other related tasks that may help in the realisation of projects.

Skills:

Minimum 5 years experience Civil Engineering Drafting, specifically as it relates to municipal infrastructure projects. Proficient in reading and interpreting specifications and design drawings. Advanced knowledge of Civil 3D (required). Strong knowledge of NL Municipal Master Specifications. Ability to measure quantities for payment. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective time management skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively with a team.
