An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Designer / Drafter based in our Burlington Office to support our expanding projects. We are looking for a motivated individual with the drive and skills required in the development and presentation of civil engineering design drawings in accordance with our high standards.
About the role: In your role, you will have the opportunity to take on a wide variety of tasks. Some examples are to:

• Prepare 2D civil drawings (profiles sections, details) for industrial projects. Specific tasks include site plans, grading and bulk earthwork, drainage, roads, parking lots, sewage collection, water distribution, and stormwater management.
• Assist with redlines/revisions for in-progress and completed designs.
• Develop background base plans from 3rd party survey files.
• Interface with other disciplines (structural, architectural, process, mechanical, piping, electrical) to ensure civil drawings incorporated other discipline requirements.
• Visit sites to validate existing field conditions and information.
• Liaise with engineers for direction, specifications, and feedback.
• Assist with material and quantity take-offs.
• Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and following company and municipal standards.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, and sub-consultants to facilitate/expedite design completion.

About you

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from a recognized college.
• 5+ years experience in civil design and drafting is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting is a must.
• Experience with Civil 3D modeling and design is an asset.
• Experience in municipal design, construction/contract administration is an asset.
