A Little About You :
Your cover letter must demonstrate:
- Your interest in municipal and or transportation engineering
Your resume should show us:
- Eligibility to be registered with ASTTBC
- Transportation and/or Municipal engineering design experience
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D/AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of the design process
- Experience in large and small-scale projects
Bonus points for:
- An interest in active transportation projects
- An interest in Civil 3D and the infrastructure asset lifecycle.
- An understanding of the MMCD infrastructure design standards and associated best practices.
- An interest in corridor modeling and model-based design.
- Experience in municipal transportation design
A Little More About the Role :
In this role, you will be able to see projects from inception to delivery which also means that travel on the Island will be required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to follow instructions and would be responsible for:
- Collaborating with internal and external project team members and stakeholders
- Training others to in Civil 3D design workflow
- Transportation Modeling
- Providing design and construction services for a variety of project types across Vancouver Island
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to facilitate project requirements
- Preparing engineering base plans, designs, drawings, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects (roadworks, water and wastewater, and storm water management)
- Developing concepts and designs using Civil 3D, CAD, and other computer-aided drafting programs
- Producing design calculations and analysis for storm water and sanitary sewer collection systems
- Assisting in preparing engineering and construction tender documents and contracts
- Inspecting construction of municipal engineering projects
- Providing input into project budgeting and scheduling
