We are looking for a Civil CAD Technologist to join our growing Dam Engineering Practice in Canada. This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of hydrotechnical and water management projects providing engineering and scientific services from pre-feasibility stage through to final design and construction. On occasion your expertise may be needed by our parent company Tetra Tech on some of their challenging international projects.

Your Role:

• Support engineering design by delivering drafting services
• Provide technical assistance to project teams and complete related quantity takeoffs
• Support the design team in delivering CAD drawings using Autodesk Civil3D
• Design water conveyance systems (such as canals, pipelines, etc.), water retention sysytems (such as dams, dykes, etc.), hydraulic structures, stormawater management, flood mitigaion and erosion protection and other agriculture and municipal infrastructure
• Develop digital terrain models to prepare plan and profiles, cross-sections and details for design, tender, and construction drawings
• Prioritizing work and ensuring all processes and presentation follow company and client standards
• Working closely with other engineers and drafting personnel in a team environment to meet project deadlines and targets
• Co-operate with other disciplines to develop complete sets of drawings including civil, geotechnical, and environmental aspects

Qualifications:

• A post-secondary certificate/diploma from a recognized technical school with at least three (3) years of relevant civil engineering design experience
• Solid knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems along with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Aptitude for learning and wiliness to train and to further develop
• Extensive project experience covering heavy civil, dam, municipal or agriculture infrastructure design
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines (we work hard to limit tight deadlines)
• Creative problem solver who works in a professional and ethical manner
• Demonstrated strong work ethics and commitment to safety

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
