The Opportunity...
8 month term (preferred): Sept 2023 to April 2024
4 month term: Sept 2023 to Dec 2023

What will you do in this role?
We are looking for a student to join our Circuit Pack Product and Process Engineering team. This team is responsible for the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes used to produce our most highly integrated telecom products.

Your work in this position will help the team optimize one or more of our key processes to improve efficiency. Your project will be aimed at expanding our understanding of the factors contributing to the process performance. This will be a hands on role with many opportunities to perform experiments and learn in our product development lab.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the engineering team to understand key factors that affect the manufacturing process and use DOE to develop an experimental plan to study them.
  • Develop jigs and fixtures to improve manufacturability of the products.
  • You will receive training prior to beginning your project.
  • You are encouraged to come up with creative ideas to improve the processes.
  • Keep well organized records of experimental results.
  • Analyze data to show the trend of the impact of key parameters on the process quality.

Required Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of basic physics
  • Mechanical design skill is required
  • Able to use SolidWorks or SolidEdge mechanical design tools
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analysis using JMP or other tools
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Highly motivated and able to work well independently
  • Strong mechanical background is a plus since jigging, fixture design will be involved.
