Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Chronic Pain Physician to join our small but dedicated healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized pain management care, focusing on patients suffering from complex, persistent pain conditions. As a key member of our clinical team, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatments and collaborate with other specialists to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities



Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate chronic pain conditions, including detailed medical history and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans utilizing a variety of modalities such as pharmacologic therapies, interventional procedures, and non-pharmacologic strategies. Administer or coordinate advanced procedures including botulinum toxin treatments, nerve blocks, and other interventional radiology techniques. Utilize electronic health record (ACCURO) systems effectively to document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes while maintaining compliance with province regulations. Monitor patient responses to treatments through regular follow-up assessments and adjust care plans accordingly for optimal results. Educate patients on pain management options, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to empower their recovery journey. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in pain medicine, medical imaging, and relevant clinical research to ensure evidence-based practice. Ensure all procedures adhere to safety protocols including aseptic techniques and infection control standards.

Requirements



Medical degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice medicine in the Ontario. Board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with subspecialty training in pain management preferred. Proven experience in outpatient or inpatient pain clinics with a focus on chronic pain conditions. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Accuro or similar platforms for documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to pain diagnosis including CT scans and diagnostic radiology reports. Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures such as vascular interventional radiography and catheterization techniques. Experience in administering treatments for neurological or musculoskeletal conditions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about complex treatment options. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding for billing purposes, and compliance standards. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in both outpatient settings and hospital environments. ACLS certification required; additional certifications in advanced airway management or critical care are advantageous. This role is to take over another physicians existing patient roster and will be part-time only. You will have access to a physician assistant who will perform your consults, notes and other requests during your working day. Overhead in the clinic is on a sliding scale and can be discussed in an interview.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $50,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
