Job Description

The BGC Niagara is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Childcare Quality and Licensing Manager at the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara.

The Childcare Quality and Licensing Manager works collaboratively with Centre Managers and Supervisors to conduct internal audits, support licensing renewals, provide training on compliance expectations, assist with policy and handbook development, and promote continuous improvement in program delivery, safety, and documentation.

Full Time Salaried Position - 35-44 hours per week; Compensation range: $52,552.50 - $56,452.50 annually (commensurate with experience); In addition to the base wage, the Childcare Quality and Licensing Manager will receive a $2 per hour wage enhancement. This role also includes mileage reimbursement for approved travel.

Qualifications needed for Employment

College and/or University Diploma/Degree in:

Early Childhood Education/or; Child and Youth Worker Diploma/or; Recreation and Leisure/or; Ontario Teacher's College Diploma/or; Other acceptable post secondary equivalents for childcare settings - At time of hire Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or Ontario Teacher College if applicable diploma - At time of hire - Proof of membership in good standing Current Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Valid only if obtained within 6 months or less. -Must have at time of hire or proof of purchase with receipt Immunizations Records - At time of hire Standard First Aid/CPR C - Must be valid at time of hire Food Handlers - Can obtain during employment Drivers Licences - At time of hire Directors Approval - Can obtain once hired- successful Director's Approval required to hold License of Child Care Center. High Five - Can obtain during employment MOL - Will obtain during employment At least three years experience in supervising Licensed Childcare Programming - In depth knowledge of CCEYA and CCLS regulations considered an asset
This position is responsible for supporting ongoing compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Niagara Region Public Health standards, Quality Child Care Niagara (QCCN), and consistent with the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara policy, philosophy and core values of Boys and Girls Club of Canada. They will be required to travel regularly to assigned sites within the Niagara Region (St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Welland, Chippawa, and Crystal Beach). The core hours of work for this position are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; however, hours may vary depending on program schedules, operational needs, and assigned projects or events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliverables include but are not exclusive to:

Conduct regular internal audits at all licensed childcare sites to ensure compliances with CCEYA, MEDU, QCCN and Niagara Region Public Health Standards and BGC Niagara policies and procedures; Maintain and monitor compliance documentation and follow up action plans; Support Centre Managers in preparation for inspections, renewals, and licensing visits; Analyze trends and prepare summary reports identifying patterns, risks and recommendations; Develop and facilitate staff training in areas of compliance, quality, and documentation accuracy; Review, update and maintain program and policy documentation to align with legislative changes; Assist with policy review and development to ensure consistency with organizational standards; Liaise with the Ministry of Education, Niagara Region, and external parters on Licensing and quality assurance matters;
