Hickory Creek Childcare Centre

is currently accepting applications for our Float position of Early Childhood Educators and Assistants from qualified and motivated candidates. This is a contract position with potential to extend into permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and implementing child-care lunch and snack duties Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children Guide and assist children in the development of eating, dressing and toilet habits Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children Work in partnership to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials Adhere to all centre policies and procedures Follow all guidelines according to Ministry of Education CCEYA and "how does learning happen" pedagogy Food prep, kitchen organization and Break Coverage for full time staff Base pay based on experience plus $2.00 WEG (base + $2.00)

Qualifications

A current Vulnerable Sector Check from the Regional police from the last 6 months Current CPR/ First Aid Certification Food handlers certificate A passion for working with children Strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times Experience in kitchen prep an asset Fluent oral and written English language communication skills; Skilled at working both independently and within a team context. Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search.

Additional information:

This is a Float position, same schedule everyday. Schedule: Monday to Friday. 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with 30 minute break.
