Job Description

Credentials: Looking to hire a summer student for the months of July and August

• Alberta Childcare Staff Certification (Level 2 or 3) / ELCC Certificate, Diploma or equivalent or willing to obtain. Can train, but must be willing to do courses.
• Bachelor of Education Degree, Educational Assistant certificate or Diploma, Social Worker Diploma, Bachelor of Child and Youth Care Diploma an Asset but not required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Child Intervention Record Check
• First Aid

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a high-quality program, in line with Happy House Daycare philosophy, that supports and promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• Plan and maintain a high-quality environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
• Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other educators
• Support children in the development of their self-help skills and independence
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• Plan and organize activities for children
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
• Work in partnership to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials
• Ability to support children with diverse needs with significant challenges to develop their social, behavioral, and communications skills.
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting. Must have good physical and mental health.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $18.64-$27.62 per hour Benefits:
