Position Overview:
We are looking for a positive, passionate, reliable, and highly organized Dayhome Consultant to join our team. In this important role, you will support the development, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of day home educators to ensure compliance with Alberta's Family Day Home Standards. You will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships with families and day home providers, offering guidance, training, and assistance to ensure high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Dayhome Educator Support & Development:
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of day home educators to ensure they meet or exceed Alberta's Family Day Home Standards.
Provide coaching, training, and ongoing professional development to day home educators.
Perform home visits and inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with standards.
Assist in developing personalized improvement plans for educators, addressing any areas of concern.
Offer ongoing guidance and support to educators to help them maintain and improve quality care.
Family Support & Referral Services:
Connect families with day homes that meet their specific needs and preferences.
Provide information on child care options and assist families with finding suitable placements.
Answer questions about day home services, the licensing process, and educator expectations.
Administrative & Compliance Duties:
Maintain accurate records of day home provider evaluations, training, and correspondence.
Ensure all documentation is up to date and compliant with provincial regulations.
Coordinate and prepare reports related to day home educator performance, compliance, and regulatory adherence.
Community Engagement & Networking:
Build strong relationships with community partners, including local early childhood education organizations, regulatory bodies, and other child care agencies.
Participate in community outreach initiatives and events to promote the day home program and raise awareness.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a child care or family services setting.
Knowledge of Alberta's Family Day Home Standards and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals and groups.
Demonstrated ability to assess, coach, and mentor others.
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
