Program Administrator / Director of Services/Executive Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The RECE Centre Supervisor is responsible for managing the overall operation of an FCCC assigned preschool centre which is located within a Limestone District School Board school. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the services that are provided for children and their families effectively contribute to the provision of environments and experiences that support children's learning, development, health and well-being. Services are to be based on current best practices and standards, provided in accordance with Ministry of Education licensing requirements, legislation, regulations, guidelines, frameworks and reflective of the organizational Program Statement. The program and services are developed, implemented, monitored and evaluated in conjunction with the management team. The RECE Centre Supervisor provides direct support and supervision to preschool program educators and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Early Childhood Education Diploma from a recognized educational institution
Current unrestricted registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
Additional training in human resource management practices, an asset
Minimum 2-years supervisory experience in a unionized licensed childcare environment and is approved by a Ministry Director
Minimum 1-year administrative experience in a unionized licensed childcare environment
Demonstrated knowledge of high level of practice skills and proficiency in the application of current childcare theories, standards of practice and pedagogical approaches in a licensed childcare setting to support children's learning, development, health and well-being
Thorough knowledge of and ability to understand and ensure adherence to the intent of regulations and legislation
Knowledge of and ability to apply human resources best practices within the sector, organizational policy and procedure, collective agreement provisions and employment legislation
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others
Ability to provide input into the development of strategies to move the organization forward
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and demonstrated ability to manage program budget
Ability to define site specific problems and effectively apply analytical skills in its solution
Proficient in the use of computer software applications necessary for the completion of administrative functions, research and communication (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, email and internet)
Knowledge of community resources and services for children and families
Ability to travel requiring regular access to a reliable vehicle, valid G driver's licence and appropriate insurance
Physical capacity for lifting of children and items (up to 20 kg or 44 lbs) for the program
Flexibility to work the hours required including evenings and cover ratios at any site, when necessary
Ability to provide record of immunization satisfactory to the Employer
Ability to provide a current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening satisfactory to the Employer
