We are looking to hire an Academic Center Manager, the Montessori childcare manager will oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring that the Montessori philosophy and curriculum are implemented in a safe and nurturing environment. This role will manage staff, maintain records, and work with parents and outside organizations to provide the best possible education and care for the children in the center.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the center, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
Develop and implement the Montessori philosophy and curriculum, including planning and leading activities that promote child development in a safe and nurturing environment.
Maintain accurate records, including student files, staff records, and financial records.
Recruit, train, and evaluate staff, ensuring they meet Montessori standards and expectations.
Collaborate with parents, staff, and outside organizations to provide the best possible education and care for the children in the center.
Communicate regularly with parents and staff about the center's policies, procedures, and programs.
Motivates and leads staff through personal example regarding client relations, site cleanliness, program development, classroom leadership, health and safety practices, uniform standards, staff relations, and compliance with corporate programs;
Assists to ensure the site is ready for business with all necessary supplies and equipment such as arts and crafts, large furnishings, cleaning supplies, office equipment and children's toys;
Part of daily staffing ratio.
Stay up to date with developments in the field of Montessori education and child development, and implement new ideas and practices as appropriate.
Ensure that the center is a safe and welcoming environment for children, staff, and parents.
Qualifications:
Montessori certification or training is required.
Previous experience working in a Montessori childcare center, preferably in a leadership role.
Knowledge of Montessori philosophy, principles, and practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Child Development Supervisor (Level 3)
Valid First Aid & CPR
Understanding or willingness to learn the Alberta Child care Licensing, Accreditation and health regulations and Up to date immunization and Health Assessment as per the local Ministry of Health Requirements
Police Security Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Working Conditions:
Work schedule may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The Montessori childcare director will be expected to work both indoors and outdoors, and to interact with children, staff, and parents on a daily basis.
The work environment may be noisy and require lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
