Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Assistant to support our lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
This role involves engaging with children in various activities, supporting their developmental needs, and ensuring their well-being while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
The ideal candidate will be patient, reliable, and passionate about early childhood development.
Duties
• Supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
• Provide care and support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Assist children with daily routines such as meals, nap times, and personal hygiene.
• Foster positive relationships with children to encourage social skills and emotional growth.
• Follow all health, safety and childcare regulations.
Qualifications
• Experience working with children in a caregiving role
• First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Food Safety Certification preferred but not required.
• ECE Level 1 or 2 certification not required but will be an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.19-$20.23 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
