In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in Child, Youth and Family, Mental Health Services. Provides evening and night supervision to children/youth with mental health concerns. Monitors the environment to ensure a safe milieu.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills And Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Ability to organize work. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position such as: ability to remain awake throughout night shift, and perform tasks in a manner that supports the milieu. Ability to operate related equipment.
