The Child, Youth, & Family Program Developer plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing Child, Youth & Family programming across YMCA BC. This position is responsible for developing and implementing innovative programs that align with organizational goals, promote community well-being, and meet the evolving needs of members. Working closely with Child, Youth & Family supervisors and staff, the incumbent provides guidance, support, and feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery. In collaboration with senior management, the Child, Youth, & Family Program Developer contributes to strategic initiatives aimed at increasing membership engagement and growth. The role requires a strong understanding of program development, team dynamics, and member-centered service delivery.
Major Responsibilities

in this position, you will:
Design, develop, and implement Child, Youth, & Family programs tailored to meet the needs and interests of members, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives across 10 YBC HFA centres
Work with the team of Child, Youth, & Family supervisors & staff to provide training, coaching, and feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and adherence to safety protocols
Support the Child, Youth, & Family Subject Matter Expert on grant spending for Child, Youth, & Family departments
Foster positive relationships with members through effective consultation and communication
Focus on program development, evaluation, equipment purchasing, while adhering to existing Child, Youth, & Family practices or enhancing any new Child, Youth, & Family practices as needed
Identify opportunities for program enhancement, process improvement, and innovation to enhance the member experience and drive organizational and Child, Youth, & Family growth.
Support the overall operations of the branch which includes duty manager shifts, problem solving, and member and staff engagement
Qualification

you bring:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Recreation, Teaching or Child Care Related programs
5+years of experience in program delivery, development, and evaluation
Experience in leading a team and budget management
Demonstrate leadership, strong communication, and time management skills
Knowledge of Child, Youth and Family programs and ages and stages of various age groups
Desire to make a big impact during contract position
Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
