Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support, guidance, and education to young individuals, particularly those with disabilities. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop essential life skills.

Duties

Educate and mentor youth on various life skills, including social interactions, problem-solving, and personal development. Develop and implement engaging programs and activities tailored to the interests and needs of the children. Provide one-on-one support to children with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in all activities. Build trusting relationships with youth to encourage open communication and emotional expression. Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for each child. Monitor the progress of youth in programs and provide feedback to parents or guardians as necessary. Maintain a safe and positive environment by enforcing rules and guidelines while promoting respect among peers.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a strong asset. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. A passion for education and helping young people reach their full potential. Relevant certifications or training in youth development or related fields are advantageous.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.20-$21.20 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 30 per week
