Job Description

Child Support Worker
The Sheltering Tree is currently looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, and energetic Overnight Support Worker. Child Support Workers provide support to children and youth on a one-to-one basis, or in a team environment, in home and community settings.

Candidates must possess:

The ability to build trusting relationships with children and youth The ability to participate as a part of an interdisciplinary treatment team Effective social skills and able to act as a positive role model for children and youth The ability to implement a child's programming to help the child achieve their clinical goals The ability to set limits and expectations while maintaining therapeutic rapport Strong written communication skills, efficient at writing progress notes and reporting Ability to read, understand and follow treatment plans and help clients meet their individual goals Experience working with children and youth with special needs is an asset

Please note: We are currently ONLY in need of Overnight Support Staff. 10-12 hour shifts, either sleeping shifts or awake overnight shifts.

Candidates must have the ability to relate to Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit and Metis (FNIM) youth and have an understanding of the various issues that impact this population.

Job Types: Full-time, Overnight shifts (12-hours)

Wage based on experience and performance.

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they have a valid medical exemption. All staff are required to complete COVID-19 screening prior to each shift. All staff must wear a medical mask while on shift and must follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
