Who We Are:



Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the world's foremost repertory theatre companies. It operates year-round, presenting a season of about a dozen plays each year between the months of April and November, a rich stream of digital content and hundreds of events designed to deepen understanding of the plays. For every person a theatregoer sees on our stages, we have seven people working behind the scenes, some of the world's most dedicated and experienced arts workers.

??The Child Performer Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for minor children contracted to perform as artists in Festival productions. This position involves overseeing the daily activities of child performers, ensuring their well-being.

?The Child Performer Supervisor will create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages creativity and confidence while adhering to industry regulations regarding child labor and performance. ?



Responsibilities:



??Attend all rehearsals and performances of the productions for which children are contracted ?Supervise children during rehearsals and performances, including safe arrival/departure, preparation, and backstage movement ?Ensure the children are aware of, and are following general rehearsal and backstage etiquette ?Report any safety concerns or potential problems to stage management and the Directors' Office Liaise and communicate relevant information among children, parents/guardians and appropriate Festival staff, including documentation of activities and questions/concerns. Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures, and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:



??High school diploma (grade 12) or equivalent? in ?education and experience in child supervision? ??1 to 2 years? of experience in the supervision of children in a performing arts industry or related experience ??Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this position ?Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check is required ?First Aid certification is considered an asset?
