The Child Life Worker uses theories of growth and development, family systems, play and cultural diversity to provide a therapeutic and safe environment for individuals and groups from birth to adolescents. The Child Life Worker facilitates play, peer interaction, socialization and assists in attaining goals for individual children and families through play/activity programming. The incumbent functions as a member of the Child Life team, takes a leadership role for the Child Life Play Program; provides developmentally appropriate play programming for individuals and groups; screens, trains and oversees play program volunteers; supervises learners; incorporates child life goals into play programming; maintains the play spaces and requests supplies and equipment as needed; organizes child/family participation in special visitors/events; participates in Child Life profession activities and completes administrative tasks as required (e.g. workload measurement).Hours of Work7.5 hours/shift, Monday-Friday/weekends/evenings.Your Qualifications
