Options Available:

Part-Time (16-18 hrs/week):

AM Shift (8:30-12:30) - Early Childhood Focus: Support families in the critical first six years and help build strong community connections. PM Shift (3:30-7:30) - School-Aged/Youth Focus: Create engaging programs that build resilience, confidence, and connections through play and exploration.
Full-Time Split-Shift:Love both age groups? There's also an opportunity to combine these roles into one full-time position (AM + PM) for the right candidate.

This is a 12 month term, maternity leave coverage.

What You'll Do:



Program Development and Implementation:



- Research and identify emerging trends to develop engaging programs tailored to the needs of children and families.

- Plan and implement daily activities and programming aligned with agency standards and provincial guidelines, integrating best practices and evidence-based methods.

- Lead the creation of new programs and events rooted in solid research and designed to enhance family resource management.

Participant Engagement:



- Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment where children and families feel connected and valued.

- Incorporate KARA's playful, strength-based approach into every activity, highlighting participant strengths and fostering active engagement.

- Build meaningful relationships with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, using strong communication skills to ensure inclusivity and community.

Educational and Supportive Resources:



- Connect families with vital resources related to school-aged development, parenting support, and community programs in Edmonton.

- Collaborate with local organizations to ensure families receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs.

- Education: Child and Youth Worker, Educational Assistant, Social Work diploma

- Passion for working with school-aged children and their families.

- Experience in program development and facilitation.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- Creativity in resource management and event planning.

- Ability to thrive in both team settings and independent work.

Additional Requirements:



- Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)

- Intervention Record Check

- First Aid/CPR (within 6 months of hire)

- Valid Driver's License
